We are currently conducting medical research studies in the following areas:


Alzheimer's Disease

Does someone close to you have Alzheimer’s Disease?

Meridien Research is conducting a study to test the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication that may improve Alzheimer’s disease-related (memory) symptoms vs. a placebo. Eligible individuals must be:

•    Currently taking Donepezil (Aricept®)
•    Diagnosed with moderate to moderately severe probable Alzheimer’s Disease
•    Ages 50 and older
•    Daily interaction with a caregiver who can come to study visits

Medical insurance is not necessary. Study related medication and care are provided to eligible participants. Compensation for time and travel may be available. 352-597-8839.

Alzheimer's Disease

Is Alzheimer’s keeping you up at night?

If you have a loved one with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease who experiences sleep disturbances they may be eligible for a clinical trial of an investigational melatonin-based sleep aid vs. a placebo. Those ages 50-85 being treated for Alzheimer’s may be eligible. Medical insurance is not necessary. Study related medication and care are provided to eligible participants. Type 2 Diabetes

Are you a Type 2 Diabetic, taking Metformin and still having trouble controlling your blood sugar? Meridien Research is conducting a clinical research study exploring an investigational drug for type 2 diabetes. If you are between the ages of 18 - 80, have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and are taking Metformin, give us a call.  Compensation for time and travel is provided to qualified participants.

Type 2 Diabetes

Are you currently taking Lantus®, Levemir®, Humulin® N or Novolin® N? Has your doctor told you your blood sugar level is not adequately controlled?

Meridien Research is conducting a research study of an investigational, oral medication to see if it can help improve blood sugar levels.  To pre-qualify for this study, you must:

  •  Be 18 years of age, and

  •  Have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and

  • Be currently taking either Lantus®, Levemir®, Humulin® N or Novolin® N with or
    without metformin and/or a sulfonylurea and your dose has been unchanged for the
    last several weeks.

Qualified participants will receive all study related medical evaluations and study medication at no cost.  You may also receive reimbursement for time and travel. Medical insurance is not necessary to participate in this study. To learn more, please call Meridien Research at 352-597-8839.

Diabetic Foot Pain

Diabetic Foot Pain Study Currently Enrolling

Is diabetic foot pain slowing you down?  If you suffer from aching, burning, stabbing, or tingling sensations in your feet and legs from diabetic peripheral neuropathy you may be eligible for a clinical research study at Meridien Research to study the safety and effectiveness of the approved medication Lyrica®.   Medical insurance is not necessary.  Compensation for time and travel may be available.  Call Meridien Research today at 352-597-8839 for more information.

Gout

Gout flare-ups? Pain, swelling and tenderness in your joints? If you are experiencing these symptoms and are at least 18 years of age, you may qualify to participate in a clinical research study. Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome study currently enrolling. 

If you suffer from moderate to severe abdominal pain of diarrhea-predominant irritable syndrome and you're between 18 and 79, you may be eligible for Meridien Research's clinical study. Overactive Bladder

Overactive Bladder Study Currently Enrolling

Do you lose bladder control with little warning? Smoking Cessation

Looking to stop smoking? Consider joining our Smoking Cessation Study.

We are enrolling volunteers in a clinical trial to study the effects of NicVAX, an investigational nicotine vaccine as an aid to stop smoking vs. a placebo. If you've smoked an average of at least 10 cigarettes day for the last year and are between the ages of 18-65 you may qualify for this research study. You must be able to make a 1 year commitment to enroll in this study.  Participants may receive study related investigational product and study related medical care. Stomach Ulcers

Are you at risk for developing stomach ulcers? If you are currently on a 325 mg per day aspirin regimen, you may be at risk. Meridien Research is currently conducting a 6-month clinical research study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication on reducing the possibility of developing stomach ulcers in subjects who are likely to develop aspirin-related ulcers. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Eligible participants will receive study medication and study related medical care. Compensation for time and travel may be available.
