Multiple Sclerosis #3

New MS Study Offers Hope of Less Injections

Meridien Research is currently conducting a clinical research study to test the efficacy and safety of a higher dose of Glatiramer Acetate (Copaxone®), given less frequently vs. a placebo. Glatiramer Acetate (Copaxone®), is approved to reduce the frequency of relapses in patients with relapsing-remitting MS.  The dose used in this study is higher than the approved dose and is therefore investigational. Participants ages 18-55 will receive study-related medication or placebo for the duration of the study.  Study-related medical care and three MRIs are included as part of the study.  No medical insurance is necessary to participate.  Compensation may be available for time and travel.  Call 813-87-STUDY.

Smoking Cessation

Looking to stop smoking? Consider joining our Smoking Cessation Study.

We are enrolling volunteers in a clinical trial to study the effects of NicVAX, an investigational nicotine vaccine as an aid to stop smoking vs. a placebo. If you’ve smoked an average of at least 10 cigarettes day for the last year and are between the ages of 18-65 you may qualify for this research study. You must be able to make a 1 year commitment to enroll in this study. Participants may receive study related medication and study related medical care. Medical insurance is not necessary.

Compensation for time and travel may be available.
